Capacity Community Celebration 2023

Our valued partner Capacity celebrated the graduation ceremony and pitch party of the graduates of the Entrepreneurship Program 2023 last week. In an entertaining, inspiring and motivating evening, the entrepreneurs presented their business ideas and the Capacity community talked about the transformation of the association, the new challenges and plans, and the transformation needed to meet the ever-evolving needs of the labor market.

Partnership between Capacity and Wicki Partners

Capacity is a non-profit startup incubator in Zurich that was founded in 2015 by Selina Benke-Bruderer, Emily Elsner-Adams and Valentina S. Velandia to create optimal opportunities for entrepreneurs with a migrant or refugee background to develop their business ideas and startup projects. The members of Capacity are committed to an open society that welcomes and supports all people - regardless of their background.

Capacity brings partners together to promote diverse stakeholders and cross-sector collaboration between public authorities, academia, entrepreneurship, civil society, the private sector and businesses.

Wicki Partners is the official legal advisory partner of Capacity Zurich. We offer Capacity Zurich and the incubator participants free legal support in all legal issues that arise when founding a company, and we are involved in the Capacity Launch and Boost Program through our lawyers. In addition, other well-known companies actively support Capacity Zurich financially and through other services.

Graduation ceremony 2023

The evening was opened for us by the powerful-voiced Kenyan singer Claudia Masika. Her positive energy was carried on by all the members of the Capacity community, who presented an insight into their lives, their inspiration and their business ideas.

The focus of the evening was naturally on the graduates of this year's entrepreneurship programs. These four-month programs consist of a combination of mentoring, workshops and soft skills training. It was obvious that this support in development, planning and implementation was bearing fruit. With a lot of mutual support, we were presented with one inspiring, meaningful and sustainable idea after another. Two of them received additional seed funding from capacity partner Generali Switzerland:

Maha Khalil's business idea with "Our Hub" is to create a community that supports immigrant women in Switzerland, giving them a sense of belonging and connection and facilitating their integration into the Swiss labor market.

Mariia Sitko's vision with HEMP Workwear is to offer companies an environmentally conscious clothing alternative that offers employees comfort and promotes sustainable practices.

We would like to thank Capacity for the successful evening and look forward to the new projects in 2024.

Balthasar Wicki or Arife Asipi will be happy to assist you if you are interested in the work of Capacity or have any questions about setting up a company.
